“Decades” of Fun at La Cocina

Our recent fundraiser at La Cocina restaurant was great fun! “The Decades” played their fabulous jazz and oldies tunes and rocked the night away for us. (Yes, if you were there, you may have heard their spirited rendition of “Stray Cat Strut.”) The La Cocina staff remarked that “having The Decades playing made working a lot of fun!”

Donations of money and earrings to help the cats! Some local girls made this a very special night. Kaleigh used money that she had saved to buy raffle tickets. We’re sure that Kaleigh’s generous spirit will shine through as she enters BASIS school this fall! Sisters Payton and Anastasia brought their wide-eyed love of animals as they put dollars into our “Every Litter Bit Helps” donation pan. Payton came back and donated the earrings she was wearing too (see center of photo.)  She explained, “These earrings are not the same, but they still go together and maybe they can help the cats too!” Our kitties send big PURRs to these girls for having very big hearts!

Our deepest gratitude to Jo, Marcy, Church, and the other La Cocina staff for graciously hosting “Tuesdays for Tucson” and donating their time, energy, and money to PAWSitively Cats. Huge thanks to Hersch, Mary, Ed, and Dave of “The Decades” for playing and helping to promote our silent auction and raffle baskets. Last but not least, thank YOU Tucson for turning out to support our kitties! We hope to see you at our upcoming fundraisers as well.
